Information

What is Clear Aligners?

Clear aligners are a modern, virtually invisible alternative to traditional braces. Using a series of custom-made, removable transparent trays, clear aligners gently shift your teeth into the desired position — with no wires, no brackets, and no disruption to your everyday life.

How do clear aligners work?

You’ll wear a series of custom-fitted clear trays, each one slightly different from the last, gradually moving your teeth toward the final desired position. Each tray is typically worn for 1–2 weeks before progressing to the next.

Treatment time varies depending on the complexity of your case. Minor corrections can take as little as 6 months, while more complex cases may take 12–24 months. We’ll give you a realistic timeframe at your consultation.

Clear aligners are virtually invisible when worn. Most people won’t notice them at all unless they’re looking very closely. This makes them a popular choice for adults and teens who want discreet orthodontic treatment.

Why Patients Choose Clear Aligners

Clear aligners let you straighten your teeth on your terms — comfortably, discreetly, and without changing your lifestyle.

Virtually Invisible

The clear, custom-fitted trays are barely noticeable when worn, so you can go about your daily life during treatment without drawing attention to your orthodontic work.

Removable for Eating & Cleaning

Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners can be removed for meals, brushing, and flossing — making it far easier to maintain good oral hygiene during treatment.

Comfortable to Wear

No sharp wires or brackets. Aligners are smooth, custom-fitted to your teeth, and designed for all-day comfort.

Common Questions

We're Here to Answer Your Questions

New to Smiles Dental Care, or just a little nervous? Here are some
questions our patients ask most often.

Am I a suitable candidate for clear aligners?

Clear aligners are effective for a wide range of cases including crowding, spacing, and mild-to-moderate bite issues. A consultation with our dentist will confirm whether they’re right for you.

For best results, aligners should be worn 20–22 hours per day — only removed for eating, drinking (anything other than water), and oral hygiene.

You may experience mild pressure or discomfort for the first day or two when switching to a new tray. This is completely normal and is a sign the aligners are working. It typically settles quickly.

After completing your aligner series, wearing a retainer is typically recommended to help maintain your results. This is a standard part of orthodontic treatment to help prevent teeth from gradually shifting back over time.

Pricing depends on the complexity of your case and the brand of aligners used. We provide a full written quote after your consultation, with flexible payment options available.
